NFL.com analysts provide one bold prediction for Week 2 of the 2025 NFL season, from fantasy forecasts to team-based takes.
Tennessee QB Cam Ward notches first career win.
Ward showed flashes in his NFL debut at Denver but ultimately struggled to curate consistent offense. Tennessee's defense, however, held up admirably against Sean Payton's unit on the road. This week, the Titans host the Rams, whose offense had its own struggles in Week 1. Tennessee's D holds up again, while Ward notches his first career victory to go along with 250 passing yards and a pair of TDs.
Seattle rushes for 200 yards in Pittsburgh.
The Seahawks rushed for just 84 yards against the 49ers in Week 1, led by Zach Charbonnet's 47 yards on 12 carries. But now they face a Steelers team that was gashed by the Jets to the tune of 182 yards on the ground. Seattle leans into the run and rushes for 200 yards in a road win.
All five WRs drafted in the top 10 over the last two years score a touchdown.
From the 2024 draft class, that includes Marvin Harrison Jr. (No. 4 overall pick), Malik Nabers (No. 6) and Rome Odunze (No. 9). With this year's crop, we get the first career touchdowns from rookies Travis Hunter (No. 2) and Tetairoa McMillan (No. 8). And for a little bonus: All five will score from outside the red zone.
Drake Maye throws for 300 yards and a trio of TDs.
The Dolphins' defense was shredded by Daniel Jones and the Colts last week. The Patriots let Maye throw 46 times in their season opener. This week, the second-year pro goes off for 300 yards and three scores -- throwing one to Kayshon Boutte, one to Hunter Henry and one to TreVeyon Henderson, who does a lot of the work on a long, catch-and-run TD.
Two former LSU stars combine for five touchdowns.
Cincinnati's Ja'Marr Chase surprisingly had just two receptions for 26 yards in Week 1, while Jacksonville's Brian Thomas Jr. only recorded one catch for 11 yards. Sharing the same field this Sunday in Cincy, they remind us that they are two of the best receivers in the NFL, combining for five touchdowns in a tightly contested AFC tilt. Thomas catches the game-winner from Trevor Lawrence to boost the Jags to 2-0.
Arizona's Big Three ball-carriers all hit paydirt.
The Cardinals pulled out a Week 1 win at New Orleans, mostly on the strength of the running game. The Redbirds could again be earthbound in Week 2 against the Panthers. Carolina was statistically the NFL’s worst run defense last year -- it surrendered a whole lot of yards and, in turn, gave up a ton of touchdowns. Arizona’s main ball-carriers -- James Conner, Trey Benson and Kyler Murray -- should get a lot of work in a positive second-half game script, and I predict they all score a touchdown in some capacity.
