Bum knee sidelines Redskins safety Atogwe vs. Panthers

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Washington Redskins starting safety Oshiomogho Atogwe is out with a knee injury Sunday against the Carolina Panthers.

Atogwe was hurt last week against the Philadelphia Eagles, so Reed Doughty will start in a Redskins secondary that also will be without cornerback Byron Westbrook, who was ruled out after hurting his hamstring in practice Wednesday.

Washington also was without starting offensive tackle Trent Williams (ankle) and tight end Chris Cooley (finger).

The Redskins' other inactives are wide receiver Donte Stallworth, linebacker Markus White and defensive lineman Darrion Scott.

Carolina's inactives are quarterback Jimmy Clausen, safety Jordan Pugh, running back Mike Goodson, tight end Richie Brockel, linebacker Omar Gaither, offensive tackle Lee Ziemba and defensive tackle Frank Kearse.
