Cowboys sign long snapper to a long contract extension

IRVING, Texas -- Long snapper L.P. LaDouceur has signed a five-year contract extension with the Dallas Cowboys.

The deal announced Thursday puts LaDouceur, a Montreal native, under contract through the 2012 season.

As a rookie free agent out of California in 2005, LaDouceur went to training camp with the New Orleans Saints. He was signed by the Cowboys in the fourth week of that season.

LaDouceur has played in 45 regular season and two playoff games for the Cowboys. He has snapped cleanly on 196 punts, 86 field goals and 122 extra points, and has six special teams tackles.
