Fines roundup: DeSean Jackson docked $16,537

DeSean Jackson is used to eluding defenders, but when the tables were turned last Sunday, his lack of experience in chasing down ballcarriers ended up costing him.

NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported Friday that the Washington Redskins wide receiver was fined $16,537 by the league for his horse-collar tackle of Arizona Cardinals safety Rashad Johnson, who was returning a Kirk Cousins interception in the fourth quarter. Here are some other offenders whose conduct last week has resulted in docked paychecks:

» Jackson's teammate, defensive tackle Chris Baker, was fined $10,000 for dragging down Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer by the facemask, also per Rapoport.

» In San Francisco, 49ers wide receiver Michael Crabtree must dole out $5,512 for throwing a football into the stands after scoring a touchdown Monday night against the St. Louis Rams, NFL Media has confirmed. The reason is based in fan safety; while handing the ball to a fan is allowed, hurling one indiscriminately into the seats could create crowd control issues, e.g., a physical skirmish for the pigskin.

» During that same game, a pair of Rams committed transgressions that got them envelopes from the league. Defensive tackle Ethan Westbrooks was fined $8,268 for unnecessarily striking an opponent, while defensive end William Hayes was docked $16,537 for a horse-collar tackle.

» NFL Media also confirmed that Chicago safety Ryan Mundy was docked $22,050 after an illegal hit of a defenseless player. In this case, the Bears defender was determined to be targeting the head and neck of Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Roddy White last Sunday.
