Giants punter Weatherford throws barbs at Eagles QBs

Leave it to the punter to stir up some NFC East drama during the league's dead season.

Giants punter Steve Weatherford had some interesting opinions to share about the Eagles' quarterback room during a radio appearance on WFAN's Boomer and Carton Show on Friday.

"I'm gonna give you a Ferrari (in reference to Sam Bradford) that maybe won't be running all the time, or I'm giving you a nice Cadillac sedan (Mark Sanchez)," Weatherford said, via ESPN.com. "It's not the fastest but you know what you're going to get out of it. Bradford can go from zero to 60 in three seconds, but you don't know if he's gonna start up some days."

Sanchez started eight games for Philadelphia last season, throwing 14 touchdowns and 11 interceptions with a career-high passer rating of 88.4. Bradford, acquired by the Eagles via trade in the offseason, is working his way back from his second reconstructive knee surgery in as many years.

"Chip Kelly will get himself in serious trouble if they get an extension for that guy," Weatherford said of Bradford. "And (if) he gets hurt? He's done."

Weatherford saved his most blunt assessment for Tim Tebow, who will battle with Matt Barkley for the third-string job after being out of football the past two seasons.

"I'm the biggest Tim Tebow fan in the world," Weatherford said. "I mean, who wouldn't want their daughter to date a guy like that? I'll tell you what, I don't want him taking snaps for my team."

Cut to Chip Kelly and Eagles punter Donnie Jones plotting their return volley in a bunker beneath Philadelphia. This aggression will not stand, man.
