Indianapolis Colts' Josh McNary didn't plan military route to NFL

The Indianapolis Star published a Q-and-A with former U.S. Army officer and current Indianapolis Colts linebacker Josh McNary. He is one of a handful of players this season who have experience in the military and the NFL.

McNary said the Army wasn't part of his plan when he started thinking about playing college football.

He said he missed football, though, while fulfilling his military obligation.

McNary said he knows his military friends have been following his NFL career, which has solidified since he was promoted from the Colts practice squad last month.
