Injury roundup: Eagles lose Vick; Titans' Britt might be done

Here's a quick look at the latest injury updates and reports to cross the NFL.com news desk in Week 3.

» One week after he suffered a concussion, a clearly frustrated Michael Vick told reporters he didn't know if he would be able to play for the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 4 after suffering a broken right hand against the New York Giants. The Eaglesalso lost receiversJeremy Maclin (hamstring) and Riley Cooper (concussion), neither of whom returned.

» Giants defensive end Justin Tuck said he will be able to play through the neck injury that kept him out for parts of the victory over the Eagles: "It's something I can play through and will play through." Giants coach Tom Coughlin said defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul was "OK" after leaving with cramping.

» It appears to be a worst-case scenario for Tennessee Titans wide receiver Kenny Britt, who suffered a right knee injury against the Denver Broncos. A league source told NFL Network's Albert Breer that the Titans believe Britt tore the medial collateral ligament and possibly the anterior cruciate ligament in the knee. Titans coach Mike Munchak said Britt would undergo testing Monday.

» Indianapolis Colts quarterback Kerry Collins was evaluated for a possible concussion during Sunday's 23-20 loss to Pittsburgh. Coach Jim Caldwell said team doctors felt it was best for Collins to leave the game. He said he wouldn't know Collins' status for next Monday's game against Tampa Bay until more evaluation takes place.

» New Orleans Saints right tackle Zach Strief had to be helped off the field with a right knee injury during the third quarter against the Houston Texans. He was replaced by Charles Brown. Center Olin Kreutz also left the game with a left leg injury. Saints coach Sean Payton declined to discuss the injuries.

» Jets cornerback Antonio Cromartie suffered bruised lungs, a source told the New York Daily News, during the fourth quarter against the Raiders and was replaced by Donald Strickland. Jets coach Rex Ryan told reporters that Cromartie was receiving X-rays on the injury after the game. Backup tight end Jeff Cumberland was ruled out after an ankle injury during the second quarter, and he'll have an MRI exam Monday. Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez, who had some discoloration under his right eye after the game, said during his postgame news conference that he wasn't sure if he had broken his nose.

» Buffalo Bills defensive back Aaron Williams was taken off the field on a stretcher against the New England Patriots with a chest injury. There's good news to report, though, as Williams tweeted several hours after the game that he would be OK, and Bills coach Chan Gailey said it was unlikely the injury is season-ending.

» The Miami Dolphins lost starting guard Vernon Carey to a right shoulder injury early against the Cleveland Browns, and he didn't return. The team had no official announcement, but Carey will have tests Monday, according to The Associated Press.

» The Plain Dealer reported late Sunday that Browns rookie nose tackle Phil Taylor sustained a sprained medial collateral ligament in his knee.

» Officially, Carolina Panthers cornerback Chris Gamble was "shaken up" and didn't return against the Jacksonville Jaguars. WZGV-AM in Charlotte reported that Gamble suffered a possible head injury.

» San Francisco 49ers running back Frank Gore played through a right ankle injury during the second half against the Cincinnati Bengals and wasn't sure if he'll play next week, according to Comcast SportsNet Bay Area.

» Jaguars running back Montell Owens left the game against the Panthers with a knee injury and didn't return.

» Green Bay Packers starting right tackle Bryan Bulaga was sidelined during the first quarter of the game against the Chicago Bears with a knee injury. He was replaced by Marshall Newhouse for the rest of the game. Packers coach Mike McCarthy said Bulaga suffered a bruised knee.

»The Raiders played without two starters in the defensive secondary -- safety Michael Huff (concussion) and cornerback Chris Johnson (groin) -- after they were injured during the first quarter against the New York Jets. Raiders coach Hue Jackson said fullback Marcel Reece didn't return after sustaining an ankle injury and running back Darren McFadden played through a groin injury. He didn't offer an update on the severity of any of the injuries. McFadden told reporters during his postgame news conference that he didn't have an injury.

» Atlanta Falcons running back Jason Snelling was sidelined by a head injury against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and starting cornerback Dunta Robinson left during the second quarter with what the team called an unspecified injury. Robinson returned during the second half.

» It didn't look good for Bucs safety Cody Grimm, who was carted off the field during the third quarter after taking a helmet to his right knee while making a tackle. Grimm was almost immediately ruled out. The Bucs also announced that linebacker Geno Hayes suffered a head injury.

» Although the Kansas City Chiefs announced that Brandon Flowers was questionable to return against the San Diego Chargers after suffering a right knee injury during the first half, Flowers told the Kansas City Star that he realized during the game the injury was to his ankle, not his knee. Flowers said he was hopeful the injury was a sprain and that he would undergo X-rays. Flowers' replacement, Travis Daniels, also left with an injury during the second quarter.

» The Chargers announced that cornerback Quentin Jammer wouldn't return following a hamstring injury, and defensive linemen Jacques Cesaire (knee) and Antonio Garay (head) were injured during the fourth quarter.

» St. Louis Rams starting right tackle Jason Smith suffered an undisclosed injury during the fourth quarter against the Ravens and was replaced by Adam Goldberg.

» Ravens coach John Harbaugh said safety/special-teams player Haruki Nakamura suffered a "partial" injury of his posterior cruciate ligament and will have an MRI exam. Rookie wide receiver Torrey Smith's huge day for the Ravens -- five receptions, 152 yards, three touchdowns -- ended with him limping off the field with trainers with a tight hamstring, but The Baltimore Sun reports Smith said he would be OK.
