Knee injury ends season for Titans starting DT Brown

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Titans placed defensive tackle Tony Brown on season-ending injured reserve Wednesday because of a knee injury.

Brown had offseason surgery on his right knee, then he rehabilitated and missed most of the preseason. The past few weeks, he played despite not being able to practice.

Brown started 11 games but was inactive for two. He finishes the season with 3.5 sacks and 10 quarterback pressures for the Titans (5-8).

Tennessee replaced Brown on the roster by signing center Kevin Matthews off the practice squad. Matthews is the son of Hall of Fame lineman Bruce Matthews, currently an assistant coach with the Houston Texans.
