McFadden's sprained foot, McClain's ankle worry Raiders

The Oakland Raiders hope their bye week will be enough time for running back Darren McFadden, linebacker Rolando McClain and several others to become healthy again.

Raiders coach Hue Jackson confirmed Monday that McFadden sustained a foot sprain and McClain is dealing with a nagging ankle injury that sidelined them during Sunday's 28-0 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. McFadden left the game during the first quarter, and McClain was visibly limited after leaving early because of the ankle.

Jackson said more would be known about the status of McFadden and McClain as the team moves forward during this week's bye. Both players were wearing walking boots Monday, and McFadden was on crutches. Jackson said the plan was to rest McFadden this week anyway.

"We're going to have the foot looked at and make sure structurally that it's OK," Jackson said. "We'll take a great look at it as we go through this week. I'm hoping to get him back soon."

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, Jackson expects kicker Sebastian Janikowski (left hamstring) and fullback Marcel Reece (ankle) to return in Week 9 against the Denver Broncos. The Raiders hope tight end Kevin Boss (concussion), safety Matt Giordano (neck) and cornerbacks Chris Johnson (groin, hamstring) and Chimdi Chekwa (hamstring) also will be healed by then.
