Mock draft 1.0: Wentz free-falls from first

Laremy Tunsil - OT, Ole Miss: With a young quarterback in Mariota to build around, the Titans now need to protect him. Needs still exist on defense, but Tunsil is the best fit here.

Jared Goff - QB, Cal: The RGIII signing is a short-term fix. Goff is the only QB in the draft ready to start Day 1 (I think Carson Wentz will slip in this draft to a team that will sit him for a year or two and not have to pay him big money). The Browns can get a wide receiver at the top of the second round to form a great, young combo.

DeForest Buckner - DE, Oregon: Nothing could help Philip Rivers more than building up the defense. Buckner could be a franchise player on the other side of the ball.

Ezekiel Elliott - RB, Ohio State: Don't be thrown off by the Alfred Morris signing or the return of Darren McFadden. Elliott is a dynamic player who could be as important to the Cowboys as DeMarco Murray was for them in 2014. Romo needs help and Elliott can provide it.

Myles Jack - LB, UCLA: Gus Bradley knows what it takes to win a championship -- a great quarterback and a fiya defense. He has his QB and Jack gives him a building block who can play multiple roles on defense.

Vernon Hargreaves - CB, Florida: You can never have enough corners in the AFC North these days, and Hargreaves fits the defensive mindset of John Harbaugh and Ozzie Newsome.

Laquon Treadwell - WR, Ole Miss: The 49ers' defense isn't as bad as it seems. They need a complete, young wide receiver. Treadwell is the right one for them.

Jordan Howard - RB, Indiana: Explosive enough to be a No. 2 for now, until he gets the playbook down. Then can be a No. 1 with Ryan Mathews.

Jalen Ramsey - DB, Florida State: The Bucs are looking for a young corner to play Robin right now and then Batman for years to come. Ramsey is that guy. He fits well with Brent Grimes.

Will Fuller - WR, Notre Dame: If Eli Manning can't get help in the backfield, he definitely would benefit by pairing Fuller with OBJ. Fuller is used to playing in the cold, and he will open up the offense.

Joey Bosa - DE, Ohio State: The Bears have filled some holes on defense in free agency. That will take some of the pressure off of Bosa to be The Guy right away.

Andrew Billings - DT, Baylor: It's about time to give Drew Brees the Peyton Manning treatment by getting him help on defense. It starts with Billings.

Eli Apple - CB, Ohio State: Apple fills a major need for the Dolphins. He can be Batman in that secondary if his mind is right. Good fit for a Cover 3 corner.

Ronnie Stanley - OT, Notre Dame: The addition of Kelechi Osemele gives Derek Carr interior help, and Stanley will protect his blindside. The Raiders can address their RB and CB needs in the second and third rounds.

Ryan Kelly - C, Alabama: You need a rock down the pipeline. Kelly's that guy.

Mackensie Alexander - CB, Clemson: Alexander doesn't create many turnovers but he has major attitude and the confidence you need to play cornerback in the NFL.

Keanu Neal - S, Florida: The Falcons need an enforcer on defense. There's no finesse with this guy. He has a presence.

Cody Whitehair - OG, Kansas State: The Colts' O-line struggled last year. Whitehair stops the bleeding.

Jaylon Smith - LB, Notre Dame: Smith is a typical old-school 'backer, just how Rex Ryan likes them. His injury makes him available here but maybe not to the Bills for another year.

Hunter Henry - TE, Arkansas: Draft's best inside perimeter guy to go along with some studs at wide receiver.

A'Shawn Robinson - DT, Alabama: Wide receiver can be addressed in the second round to give Kirk Cousins some help. Greater need is at nose tackle to stop the run on defense.

Tyler Boyd - WR, Pittsburgh: Boyd can be the Robin to DeAndre Hopkins' Batman and another target for Brock Osweiler. This could be a scary combo for opposing defenses.

Corey Coleman - WR, Baylor: Coleman is well-rounded, has nice size, and will be hell for any No. 2 cornerback to cover. He'll have AP to take the load off of his shoulders.

Austin Johnson - DT, Penn State: Coach Marv comes from a defensive-minded staff. Check his background.

Kendall Fuller - CB, Virginia Tech: I know what a Steeler looks like. He's a Steeler, point blank.

William Jackson III - CB, Houston: The Seahawks need a cover corner and Jackson fits the mold. He's a turnover machine and not afraid of competition.

Reggie Ragland - ILB, Alabama: Move Clay Matthews back to OLB and let this guy take over the middle. He'll be an enforcer right away. He's Larry Foote and James Farrior all in one body.

Leonard Floyd - OLB, Georgia: Future replacement for Justin Houston.

Karl Joseph - S, West Virginia: Unlike Honey Badger, who is a hybrid the Cardinals can play just about anywhere, Joseph is a true safety.

Jack Conklin - OT, Michigan State: If you watched the Super Bowl, you saw that Cam Newton needs all the protection he can get.

Paxton Lynch - QB, Memphis: A taller version of Jake Plummer to go along with a young WR corps and fiya defense. Watch out!
