- Miami Dolphins coach Brian Flores told reporters quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick is back and expected to practice. He left training camp after his mother passed away on Saturday. The Dolphins also signed receiver Andy Jones and waived linebacker James Crawford.
- Los Angeles Chargers safety Derwin James Jr., suffered a right knee injury during Sunday's practice and will miss the 2020 season after he undergoes surgery, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported.
- The Jacksonville Jaguars waived former fourth-overall pick running back Leonard Fournette. The team also activated offensive tackle Ryan Pope from the reserve/COVID-19 list.
- Free-agent defensive back Logan Ryan agreed to a one-year, $7.5 million deal with the New York Giants, Rapoport reported.
- New England Patriots quarterback Cam Newton was excused from practice Monday, NFL Network's Mike Giardi reported. Per the wire, Patriots running back Lamar Miller passed his physical.
- The San Francisco 49ers announced linebacker Fred Warner has been placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list. Also, fellow LB Dre Greenlaw is in the concussion protocol, coach Kyle Shanahan told reporters.
- The New York Jets officially announced the signing of veteran receiver Donte Moncrief. The team also claimed defensive back Zane Lewis off waivers from the Cardinals and released kicker Brett Maher. Linebacker Avery Williamson agreed to a restructured contract worth $3.5 million for the 2020 season, NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported. The deal includes $1 million guaranteed and is worth a max of $5 million with incentives. The move will save New York $3 million in cash and $3.75 million in cap space, Pelissero added.
- Los Angeles Rams coach Sean McVay says receiver Cooper Kupp does not have an ankle injury, but does have soreness, per NFL Network's Omar Ruiz. Rapoport later reported Kupp has a muscle strain on the side of lower leg just above the foot and it's expected he'll be ready to go for the season opener.
- Denver Broncos outside linebacker Bradley Chubb observed practice, NFL Network's James Palmer reported. Palmer added Vic Fangio said Chubb's off day is a natural progression with his recovery and where they thought it would be now as he continues to work his way back from his ACL injury. Fangio also said he believes Chubb will be "pretty damn close" to 100% by Week 1. Palmer also reported that guard Graham Glasgow will miss the next few days, but Denver doesn't believe it's a long-term injury. Glasgow exited Saturday's practice after tweaking his ankle. The team also announced the signing of linebacker Mark Barron. Linebacker Justin Strnad was placed on the reserve/injured list.
- Hours after the Carolina Panthers announced that linebacker Andre Smith, a seventh-round pick in 2018, was being waived, the team called an audible and opted to instead trade him to the Bills in exchange for a conditional seventh-round pick in 2023, Rapoport reported. The team confirmed the move.
- Pittsburgh Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said guard David DeCastro is dealing with a lower body injury. "Hopefully, he'll be back soon," Tomlin told reporters. Pittsburgh waved defensive back Alexander Myres and tight end Dax Raymond.
- The Indianapolis Colts have removed safety Julian Blackmon from the active/non-football injury list. Coach Frank Reich said defensive tackle Sheldon Day (knee) is still making progress after what the coach called a "freak" injury during an early camp drill. Tight end Trey Burton's calf injury is likely to see him miss at least two weeks. Indy later announced it had released longtime former Steelers fullback Roosevelt Nix. The Colts signed Nix to a one-year deal in April.
- Tennessee Titans coach Titans Mike Vrabel told reporters there's no timetable for linebacker Vic Beasley's return, but he's hopeful to work with him soon.
- The Chicago Bears have re-signed rookie running back Napoleon Maxwell and placed first-year cornerback Michael Joseph on injured reserve, the team announced.
- The Detroit Lions announced Monday that they have signed free agent defensive tackle Olive Sagapolu and placed fullback Nick Bawden on the reserve/injured list.
- The Washington Football Team signed wideout Tony Brown and released Darvin Kidsy Jr.
- The Arizona Cardinals released cornerback Jalen Davis, which brings their roster down to 74. Arizona also waived tight end Ryan Becker, guard Steven Gonzalez and defensive end Adam Shuler.
- Kansas City Chiefs center Daniel Kilgore (non-football related) and offensive tackle Martinas Rankin (knee) did not practice Monday.
- The Seattle Seahawks officially signed receiver Lance Lenoir and, in a corresponding move, waive/injured running back Patrick Carr.
- The Baltimore Ravens waived defensive end John Daka, receiver Michael Dereus and center Sean Pollard. The team also placed WR DeAndrew White on IR.
- The Houston Texans announced Monday that they waived defensive tackle Albert Huggins and quarterback Alex McGough and released linebacker Daren Bates.
- The Las Vegas Raiders released cornerback Prince Amukamara on Monday.
- The Cleveland Browns waived center Casey Dunn and wide receiver Damion Willis on Monday.
- Cincinnati Bengals guard Alex Redmond passed his physical.
- Tampa Bay Buccaneers kicker Matt Gay has some competition on the way. The Bucs have agreed to terms with veteran kicker Ryan Succop, Pelissero reported Monday night. Succop is an 11-year veteran who played his last five seasons with the Titans.
