Neil Reynolds' 2025 Week 6 Power Rankings

We've only seen five weeks of action in the NFL and we are already without an undefeated team. With the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles falling last weekend, I'm left wondering how many truly great teams there are across the league. Parity reigns supreme and I think we're in for a wide-open race to the Super Bowl.

  1. DETROIT LIONS +1

The Lions have won four in a row following the misery of Week 1 at Lambeau Field and they continue to flex their offensive muscle and creativity along the way.

  1. BUFFALO BILLS -1

The Bills had been scoring for fun before falling at home to New England on Sunday. But maybe this had been coming after sloppy wins over Miami and New Orleans?

  1. PHILADELPHIA EAGLES --

There is too much inconsistency in the Philadelphia attack and there is really nowhere to hide for the likes of Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley. Things should be better.

  1. TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS +2

All five of their games to date have been decided in the final minute and the good news is that the Bucs have ridden that Baker Mayfield-inspired roller coaster to a 4-1 start.

  1. INDIANAPOLIS COLTS +5

I'm starting to believe in the 4-1 Colts. After dropping a heartbreaker they should have won in LA, Indy took care of business against the Raiders and without breaking sweat.

  1. SEATTLE SEAHAWKS +3

It's not often a team loses and rises three places up the Power Rankings. But I was so impressed with Sam Darnold and receiver Jaxson Smith-Njigba in defeat to Tampa.

  1. GREEN BAY PACKERS --

The Packers need to recapture their early season form when coming out of their bye. Two straight wins were followed by frustration in the form of a loss and a tie.

  1. JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS +3

Jacksonville's defense stood up big again in defeating Kansas City, but it should also be noted that Trevor Lawrence delivered some incredible plays to deliver the victory.

  1. LOS ANGELES RAMS -5

The Rams are a talented but frustrating team. They are 3-2 but are only a couple of plays here and there from being 5-0. Letting that one slip against the Niners in Week 5 hurts.

  1. SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS +5

Much was made of the 49ers having an easy schedule in 2025. Well, games against Seattle, Jacksonville and the Rams have been anything but. Yet this injury-hit team is 4-1.

  1. DENVER BRONCOS +2

That was a massive stage for Bo Nix to shine on in Week 5 and he delivered three straight scoring drives in the fourth quarter for the comeback win against Philadelphia.

  1. WASHINGTON COMMANDERS --

The return of Jayden Daniels means everything to the Commanders. That said, they also are able to lean on one of the league's better rushing attacks.

  1. KANSAS CITY CHIEFS -5

Just when it felt like the Chiefs were in position to win a third in a row and begin to make their move in the AFC, they crumbled late against the Jaguars and questions remain.

  1. PITTSBURGH STEELERS +1

The Steelers come out of their bye at 3-1, feeling like the AFC North is there for the taking. Joe Burrow is gone, the Ravens are injury-ravaged and the Browns are the Browns.

  1. MINNESOTA VIKINGS +1

Carson Wentz has won two out of three in relief of JJ McCarthy and while it may not mean a QB change, it could put the second-year passer on a much shorter leash.

  1. LOS ANGELES CHARGERS -11

Justin Herbert was already under a lot of pressure before losing tackle Joe Alt to a high ankle sprain. Since losing that key blocker, the Chargers have dropped two in a row.

  1. DALLAS COWBOYS +4

I thought the Cowboys would be in trouble when CeeDee Lamb went out injured. But Dak Prescott has kept this team competitive with a tie against Green Bay and a win over the Jets.

  1. NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS +5

The Drake Maye-Stefon Diggs partnership is one to keep an eye on moving forward. Mike Vrabel has already made the 3-2 Patriots into a respectable team to be monitored.

  1. HOUSTON TEXANS +1

The Texans have bounced back with two victories after their 0-3 start, but I'm not about to throw a parade for wins over Tennessee and Baltimore.

  1. ATLANTA FALCONS -2

The Falcons have slid without playing a game during their bye week, so this may be harsh. The key moving forward is to find consistency in the passing attack.

  1. CHICAGO BEARS -2

The Bears are another team on the slide during their bye week. Three of the next four games are away from Chicago, so Caleb Williams will need to play well on the road.

  1. BALTIMORE RAVENS -5

It's hard to be critical of the Ravens given how many players they have lost. The one thing they could not afford was to lose Lamar Jackson and he went down.

  1. ARIZONA CARDINALS -1

That was an embarrassing way to lose a game against Tennessee last weekend. And you have to feel the heat is building on head coach Jonathan Gannon and QB Kyler Murray.

  1. CLEVELAND BROWNS +2

There were signs of hope last Sunday as Dillon Gabriel provided an upgrade at QB and the young players around him stepped up and produced. Now it's about consistency.

  1. CINCINNATI BENGALS -4

I like what Joe Flacco represents and he is a fearless player who can still sling it. But he is 40 years old and cannot move. How does he survive behind Cincinnati's offensive line?

  1. LAS VEGAS RAIDERS -2

The Raiders looked pretty impressive in a Week 1 road win over New England. Since then, Geno Smith has turned into an interception machine and four straight losses have followed.

  1. CAROLINA PANTHERS +2

It was incredible to see Rico Dowdle rush for more than 200 yards in a come-from-behind win over Miami in Week 5. There is spirit to this team, which is far from complete.

  1. NEW ORLEANS SAINTS +3

This win was coming for Kellen Moore and Spencer Rattler. I don't know how many will come for the Saints this year, but they are playing hard.

  1. NEW YORK GIANTS -2

The Giants should have escaped from the Superdome with a victory but they turned the ball over too many times. They are not good enough to beat out five giveaways.

  1. MIAMI DOLPHINS -2

Head coach Mike McDaniel looked absolutely shellshocked after Sunday's blown game against Carolina – a contest that saw Miami ship more than 230 yards on the ground.

  1. TENNESSEE TITANS +1

Let's be honest here, the Titans got their first win of the season against Arizona on Sunday… but it was more of a game lost by the Cardinals. There is much work to be done.

  1. NEW YORK JETS -2

The Jets are the lone winless team remaining in the NFL, but I want to end on a positive here. Aaron Glenn went through similar tough times as a player and as an assistant in Detroit. He insists his Jets will "stay the course and not waver."
