Notable injuries from Sunday's Week 8 NFL games

Injuries we're monitoring around the league on this Week 8 Sunday:

  1. Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Brandin Cooks sustained a concussion against the Bengals.
  1. Houston Texans star defender J.J. Watt confirmed on Twitter that he will miss the rest of the 2019 season. NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport earlier had reported that the team feared Watt suffered a torn pectoral muscle during Sunday's win over the Raiders.

Texans cornerback Lonnie Johnson Jr. also suffered a concussion during the game, and left tackle Laremy Tunsil suffered a shoulder injury late.

  1. Philadelphia Eagles running back Miles Sanders did not return after suffering a shoulder injury vs. the Bills.
  1. New York Jets quarterback Sam Darnold suffered a sprained thumb during Sunday's loss to the Jaguars, coach Adam Gase told reporters after the game. Darnold went 21 of 30 for 218 yards with two touchdowns and three interceptions.

Cornerback Trumaine Johnson hurt his ankle against the Jaguars. Center Ryan Kalil suffered a knee injury.

  1. Arizona Cardinals running back Chase Edmonds (hamstring) and linebacker Cassius Marsh (concussion) left their game against the Saints.
  1. Seattle Seahawks center Justin Britt suffered a knee injury against the Falcons. According to NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport, it is feared Britt has a serious and season-ending knee injury, and after the game coach Pete Carroll told reporters it "looks like an ACL" injury.
  1. Tennessee Titans guard Rodger Saffold was evaluated for a concussion.
  1. Denver Broncos right tackle Ja'Wuan James did not return after suffering a knee injury vs. Colts. Broncos tight end Jeff Heuerman suffered a knee injury.
  1. Chicago Bears linebacker Isaiah Irving did not return against the Chargers because of a quad injury.
  1. Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Marqise Lee injured his shoulder vs. the Jets. Cornerback D.J. Hayden did not return due to a shoulder injury. Receiver Dede Westbrook suffered a neck and shoulder injury.
  1. Atlanta Falcons defensive end John Cominsky did not return after injuring his ankle.
  1. Indianapolis Colts defensive tackle Denico Autry suffered a stinger vs. the Broncos.
  1. Los Angeles Chargers tackle Russell Okung suffered a calf injury against the Bears.
  1. Buffalo Bills offensive lineman Cody Ford did not return after hurting his elbow vs. the Eagles.
  1. Oakland Raiders center Rodney Hudson (ankle) will not return against the Texans. Defensive end Josh Mauro (groin) has also been ruled out. Receiver Dwayne Harris (ankle) is questionable as well.
  1. San Francisco 49ers runningMatt Breida suffered an ankle injury vs. the Panthers and did not return. Running backJeff Wilson Jr. was evaluated for a head injury.
  1. Carolina Panthers receiver Jarius Wright was carted off to the locker room with a leg injury. He later returned to the game.
  1. Kansas City Chiefs cornerback Bashaud Breeland suffered a shoulder injury vs. Packers. Defense end Alex Okafor (ankle) and guard Laurent Duvernay-Tardif (ankle) also did not return.
  1. Green Bay Packers tackle Bryan Bulaga suffered a hand injury and did not return.
