Odell Beckham's cousin aims for chance as NFL running back

The dream of playing in the NFL is something Terron Beckham shares with countless other athletes who have neither an invitation to the NFL Scouting Combine nor much of a chance to catch the eye of an NFL scout.

But he's got two things going for him that most dreamers don't: freakish athletic ability, and Odell Beckham, Jr., for a cousin.

He last played football at the high school level, then began a career as a personal trainer and a fitness model, according to CBS New York. Now 23, Beckham is hoping for the chance to prove himself as a 5-11, 230-pound running back.

"They're going to get a workhorse. They're going to get Marshawn Lynch and (Adrian Peterson) transformed into one person," Beckham said.

Beckham can reportedly bench press 225 pounds 42 times, six more than the modern NFL Scouting Combine record for running backs, set by Tommy Bohanon of Wake Forest in 2013. His 45-inch vertical jump is two inches better than the modern combine record for running backs, as well (Texas A&M's Christian Michael, 2013). He recently ran a 4.50 40-yard dash, according to TEST Sports Clubs CEO Kevin Dunn told USA Today's GiantsWire.

Whether he's a good enough athlete to play in the NFL doesn't appear to be in question. Whether he's a good enough football player is an entirely different matter. At the very least, he'll look as good as anyone in a practice uniform.
