Raiders GM Reggie McKenzie likely had some bold aspirations heading into this offseason flush with salary-cap space.
And after nearly one week on the open market, his haul has been highlighted by center Rodney Hudson, defensive tackle Dan Williams and linebacker Curtis Lofton.
A solid loot, no doubt, though many were expecting McKenzie to nail one of the top free agents on the board, including Ndamukong Suh or Randall Cobb.
So how does he feel?
"We feel really good about them," McKenzie said over the weekend, via CSN Bay Area. "We had a plan. Every year, we go after a lot of guys. You're not going to get them all. Our intent was to go after them hard and heavy, and we were able to add a whole lot of guys that we really like. We feel really good about the guys we were able to add."
Although Hudson will not be thought of as a sexy move, he is one of the best centers in football, and he's only 25. Stabilizing an offensive line can do wonders for a young quarterback like Derek Carr, especially when there is some budding young talent at running back in Latavius Murray.
McKenzie knows his skill position players still need an upgrade, though, and after seeing Jeremy Maclin, Kenny Stills, Mike Wallace, Julius Thomas, Andre Johnson, Percy Harvin and Torrey Smith all change clubs without donning the Silver and Black, he'll likely look to the draft for better options.
Still, he is in a difficult position with the team's future location in flux and the label of being a perennial bottom feeder on its back.
And maybe after a week of free agency, nabbing three of the best 100 players available isn't something to be upset about.
