Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay is traveling separately from the team to Arizona for Sunday's game against the Cardinals due to an illness, according to a team spokesman.
The expectation is that McVay will be available to coach Sunday's NFC West tilt, the team spokesman added.
ESPN first reported the news.
McVay spoke with reporters on Friday and said he didn't expect wide receiver Tutu Atwell (hamstring) to be activated for Sunday's game.
The Rams (9-3) are sitting comfortably as the No. 2 seed in the NFC playoff picture heading into Sunday's Week 14 matchup. According to Next Gen Stats, the Rams have the highest percentage (35%) to earn the No. 1 seed.
McVay and the Rams take on the Cardinals (3-9) at 4:25 p.m. ET on Sunday.
