Steelers sign James Harrison to two-year deal

James Harrison announced on Instagram on Saturday that he would soon choose between re-signing with the Pittsburgh Steelers and joining Dick LeBeau with the Tennessee Titans. He's made his choice.

The Steelers announced Sunday that Harrison has re-signed with the team. He's back for his 12th season in Pittsburgh, although he has been cut multiple times over that span and spent 2013 with Cincinnati.

Harrison is not the maniacal pass rusher he once was, but he makes up for it with stout run defense. He's a solid role player who can help the Steelers as long as they are not counting on him to play every snap. One of the most unique players of his era, Harrison won the 2008 Defensive Player of the Year Award and was our pick to win another after the 2010 season. (His teammate Troy Polamalu won it that year.)

Now Polamalu and Harrison are both improbably on track to stay with the team in 2015. The Steelers aren't quite ready to say goodbye to the legends of their recent Super Bowl success.
