Titans lock up punter Kern with long-term deal

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Tennessee Titans have signed punter Brett Kern to a multiyear contract extension, the team announced Friday.

Financial terms of Kern's deal were not disclosed.

Kern completed his first full season with the Titans in 2010 and finished fifth in the AFC with a career-best 39.1-yard net average in all 16 games.

The Titans claimed Kern off waivers from Denver on Oct. 27, 2009. He was originally signed by the Broncos as a rookie free agent in 2008.
