Vikings QB J.J. McCarthy in concussion protocol following loss to Packers

J.J. McCarthy's availability for Week 13 is up in the air.

The Minnesota Vikings quarterback is in the concussion protocol following Sunday's loss to the Green Bay Packers, head coach Kevin O'Connell announced on Monday.

McCarthy reported some symptoms on the travel home and was evaluated further on Sunday night, per O'Connell.

O'Connell added that it is too early in the week to rule out McCarthy for Sunday's game against the Seattle Seahawks.

Undrafted rookie Max Brosmer is McCarthy's primary backup after Carson Wentz was lost for the season with a shoulder injury and would start if McCarthy is unable to play.
