Only one 2025 NFL Draft first-round pick remains unaccounted for with training camps opening and rookies reporting across the league.
The Denver Broncos and cornerback Jahdae Barron have agreed to terms on the 20th overall pick's rookie contract, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported on Wednesday, per sources informed of the deal. Denver later announced the signing.
With Barron's agreement, 31 of 32 first-rounders have signed with their squads, leaving the Cincinnati Bengals' Shemar Stewart as the last of the class unsigned.
As for the Broncos' 2025 class of seven picks, second-round running back RJ Harvey is the only Denver rookie who has not inked his deal, but he's one of 30 unsigned second-round picks overall. Only the Cleveland Browns' Carson Schwesinger and the Houston Texans' Jayden Higgins have agreed to terms on their second-round deals, with both having received guaranteed money that's caused a logjam for picks No. 35 through 64.
Stewart's standoff with the Bengals has also reportedly been about guaranteed dollars and has garnered plenty of media attention.
Barron's unsigned status came and went without all that much scrutiny nationally, though. Still, he's the second-to-last first-rounder to sign and the first since the Jacksonville Jaguars' Travis Hunter on June 22.
Nonetheless, a deal is done, and the Broncos will have Barron signed and sealed with rookies reporting Wednesday for training camp.
Barron, 23, was a fifth-year senior at Texas in 2024 who recorded 67 tackles and a career-best five interceptions. Barron should bolster an already stellar Broncos defense as he's likely to start along with reigning AP NFL Defensive Player of the Year Patrick Surtain II and Riley Moss in Denver's cornerback corps.
