Injury roundup: Niners WR Deebo Samuel (wrist/illness), TE George Kittle (foot) expected to play vs. Cowboys

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel (wrist/illness) and tight end George Kittle (foot) are expected to play against the Dallas Cowboys, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported, per sources.

Samuel and Kittle did not participate in practice on Wednesday. However, the Pro Bowl WR and TE did turn in a limited session on Thursday and Friday. Both were officially listed as questionable for Week 8.

Earlier in the week, 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan revealed that Samuel was dealing with a "pneumonia-like" illness and was hospitalized due to the fluid in his lungs. On Tuesday, Samuel was discharged from the hospital and was able to participate in practice on Thursday.

In San Francisco's Week 7 game against the Kansas City Chiefs, Samuel was limited and only played four snaps in the loss.

Meanwhile, Shanahan announced on Monday that Kittle was considered day to day with his foot injury.

In six games this season, Kittle has recorded 34 receptions for 375 yards and five touchdowns. Samuel has contributed 20 catches for 35 yards and two scrimmage TDs.

San Francisco will be without wide receiver Jauan Jennings (hip) and kicker Jake Moody (right ankle) for Sunday Night Football in Dallas.

The 49ers (3-4) and Cowboys (3-3) kick off at 8:20 p.m. ET.
