Giants' Malik Nabers on toe issue: 'It's like a mosquito that don't want to go away'

New York Giants receiver Malik Nabers has been dealing with a nagging toe injury that's lingered since his LSU days.

Nabers told Kay Adams on the "Up & Adams Show" that, at this point, he's focused on managing the issue through the season.

"It's like a mosquito that don't want to go away," Nabers said Monday. "I'm trying to shoo it away. But I've been doing a great job with Russell (Wilson), trainers, you know, I've been using his physical therapist guys. I've been doing an excellent job of just staying on track of it and having his people, having my people, all together, trying to work on keeping me as healthy as possible. We're moving in the right direction. We're just staying on top of it so it don't give me any problems later on down the line."

Nabers sat out during the voluntary portion of offseason work earlier in the spring as the Giants try to manage the toe issue. The injury didn't slow him down during his sensational rookie season, as he netted 109 catches for 1,204 yards and seven touchdowns. Nabers missed two games due to a concussion.

Coach Brian Daboll has said the club would manage Nabers' toe issues as they arise and could monitor his reps if needed.

As of now, like that twilight mosquito who won't quit buzzing, the issue is more of a nuisance for Nabers than something that will stop him from lighting up the box score in New York in 2025.

"This mosquito is one of them big mosquitoes," Nabers quipped, underscoring that he plans to play through the issue. "Can't get this one. We're trying to kill it, though."
