The Ravens want to see more out of a pair of high draft picks from 2013.
Both first-round safety Matt Elam and second-round linebacker Arthur Brown face critical offseasons in Baltimore, something general manager Ozzie Newsome acknowledged on a conference call with season-ticket holders.
"I think it's readily known that we have not been satisfied with the way he's played thus far," Newsome said of Elam, per The Baltimore Sun. "And I don't think Matt has been satisfied with the way he's played thus far."
Newsome, though, hasn't given up on Elam, saying: "We're all looking at 2015 as a different year. Just seeing him walk around the building, he's carrying himself a little bit different, he's carrying himself a little more confident."
Brown's name, meanwhile, bubbled up in trade talks after playing just just 211 snaps last season. "Arthur Brown is another young man who, at this point of his career, needs to find a way to get to the field," Newsome said. "When you've got C.J. Mosley and Daryl Smith playing at a very high level, it's hard for someone like Arthur to get to the field."
Elam needs plenty of good tape to overtake Hill, while Brown might find himself on the roster bubble by summer's end. Not unlike this year's crop of Ravens rookies, Elam and Brown are under the gun to make a strong impression on their coaches.
