Raiders owner Mark Davis: 'This is my favorite time -- we are undefeated'

The NFL offseason brings optimism in each city that a Super Bowl is within arm's reach. The league's swift turnaround capability and yearly roster changes give even the lowest club belief it can compete.

"I say it every year, this is my favorite time -- we are undefeated," Las Vegas Raiders owner Mark Davis quipped this week from the NFL's Annual League Meeting, via The Athletic.

The offseason has also meant big changes for the Raiders in recent years. The 2025 spring marks the third consecutive year that Davis' club has had a different coach-general manager combination. This time around, it's a Pete Carroll-John Spytek combo.

"I just didn't get it right," the Raiders owner said of his previous iterations. "That's all there is to it."

With minority owner Tom Brady taking a significant role in the organization, the Raiders have more faith that they have the right pairing.

Vegas' roster has experienced an overhaul, including trading for quarterback Geno Smith as the centerpiece of the offseason. The Raiders lost several key players, with safety Tre'von Moehrig, linebacker Robert Spillane and cornerback Nate Hobbs signing elsewhere in free agency.

The team still has many holes, including receiver, running back, offensive tackle, linebacker, cornerback and safety.

"You always want to compete, but you have to be honest," Davis said. "Are we going to win the Super Bowl this year? I don't know ... it's possible."

Like Kevin Garnett said, anything is possible.
