Report: Scott Tolzien, Packers agree on one-year deal

The Matt Flynn dynasty at backup quarterback in Green Bay could be coming to an end.

The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel's Tom Silverstein reports that Scott Tolzien is returning to the Packers on a one-year, $1.35 million contract. Tolzien couldn't beat out Flynn for the backup job last year, but the Packers' desire to lock up Tolzien for more than the league minimum indicates he has a shot to win the job in 2015.

Flynn is also headed for free agency, and its unclear if he will return to the Packers. General manager Ted Thompson could be interested in investing a late draft pick in a quarterback to groom as the team's "backup of the future." These are the sort of things you can worry about when you have so much offensive talent already locked up through 2018.
