A familiar face returns to the AFC East.
Sources tell NFL Network's Tom Pelissero that the New York Jets are signing veteran wideout Chris Hogan.
Hogan, 32, has spent seven of his eight seasons in the AFC East with the Buffalo Bills and New England Patriots. He also spent a short time on the Miami Dolphins' practice squad before making his NFL debut. Hogan earned two Super Bowl rings in his three years with the Patriots.
In 2019, Hogan signed a one-year deal with the Carolina Panthers but was plagued with a knee injury that put him on injured reserve after Week 4. Hogan finished the year appearing in only seven games.
"He's somebody whose name has come up quite a bit," Jets coach Adam Gase said of Hogan. "He's a guy who can come in and pick up the offense very quickly. Obviously, we competed against him quite a bit. He's a good fit for us."
Hogan joins a revamped Jets WR corps that is already dealing with injuries. According to NFL Network's Kim Jones, coach Adam Gase revealed on Sunday that Vyncint Smith is dealing with a core injury and rookie Denzel Mims (hamstring) missed practice today.

- As Pelissero reported late Saturday evening, the Washington Football Team has officially activated quarterback Alex Smith from the PUP list. Smith, who suffered a gruesome leg injury nearly two years ago, is on the verge of an incredible comeback story.
- Baltimore Ravens center Matt Skura (knee) has passed his physical and is expected to start practicing on Monday, the team announced. Skura is also on the brink of a remarkable comeback after suffering a horrific knee injury last November that left him with ACL, MCL and PCL tears, as well as a dislocated knee cap.
- The New York Giants hosted and are planning to sign veteran kicker Graham Gano, sources tell NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport. Gano hasn't kicked since 2018 but is fully healthy now, Rapoport added. The veteran will first need to pass his physical and COVID-19 testing before signing. The Giants have had to scramble this offseason for a new placekicker after the release of Aldrick Rojas in June. The team signed Chandler Catanzaro soon after but will now have competition.
- The Texans announced wide receiver Kenny Stills has been activated from the non-football injury list after passing his physical. Linebacker Dylan Cole was also added to the active roster. Free-agent linebacker Julian Stanford is visiting Houston, per Rapoport.
- The 49ers announced they have placed offensive lineman Spencer Long on the reserve/retired list. The Niners signed Long last week shortly after he was released by the Bills. Wide receiver Jalen Hurd exited practice early Sunday with an unknown injury, per reports. San Francisco did not provide an update on his status afterward. The second-year wideout missed all of his rookie season with a back injury. Cornerback K'Waun Williams (calf) also missed practice.
- Carolina Panthers WR Keith Kirkwood suffered a broken clavicle in practice today and will need surgery, sources tell Rapoport. The third-year receiver will be out a few weeks. This injury comes on the same day the Panthers announced the signing of WR Tommylee Lewis, WR Marken Michel (Sony's brother) and tight end Andrew Vollert, who was seen being released by the Los Angeles Chargers in the premiere episode of HBO's Hard Knocks.
- Seattle Seahawks running back Chris Carson returned to practice Sunday after missing the first three sessions to tend to a family matter. Cornerback Quinton Dunbar made his Seahawks debut after passing his physical earlier this weekend.
- Arizona Cardinals coach Kliff Kingsbury said WR DeAndre Hopkins was held out of practice as a precaution because of tightness in his left hamstring.
- The Cleveland Browns signed center Casey Dunn and waived guard Jovahn Fair in a corresponding move, the team announced.
- The Indianapolis Colts announced the signing of free-agent cornerback Tremon Smith and waived defensive end Kendall Coleman.
- The Buffalo Bills have announced the signings of defensive tackles Justin Zimmer and Tanzel Smart and waived WR Nick Easley and injured DT Niles Scott in a corresponding move.
- Chiefs WR Sammy Watkins (groin) and tackle Eric Fisher (concussion protocol) did not practice today, according to NFL Network's James Palmer. Kansas City claimed former 49ers tight end Daniel Helm off waivers, per the transaction wire.
- The Dallas Cowboys officially announced the signing of defensive end Everson Griffen, who must go through league-required COVID-19 testing protocols before reporting. Griffen will wear No. 96 for the Cowboys. DE Jalen Jelks was waived by the Cowboys to make room for Griffen.
- The Dolphins waived safety Adrian Colbert, who started five games for Miami in 2019. They also waived offensive tackle Nick Kaltmayer and activated defensive tackle Brandin Bryant off the reserve/COVID-19 list.
- Free-agent wide receiver Chris Lacy visited the Detroit Lions, where he played the past couple seasons, per Rapoport.
- The Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed veteran defensive lineman Kyle Love, who spent the past six seasons with the Panthers.
