Tuesday's NFL injury and roster news for Week 6

The Dolphins will be without one of their most productive defensive players.

Defensive tackle Davon Godchaux is expected to be out for months with a biceps injury, NFL Network's Mike Garafolo and Tom Pelissero reported. The initial diagnosis was that Godchaux would likely miss the rest of the year but a second opinion indicated he could make a late-season return, Garafolo added.

Godchaux's extended absence figures to be a big blow to a defense coming off its best performance of the young season in a win over the 49ers. It also presents an interesting crossroads to his Miami tenure.

The talented run-stopper is set to become a free agent in March and due for a payday after completing the final year of his rookie deal. He's spent the past few seasons outplaying his fifth-round selection, accumulating 179 tackles, including 12 for loss.

Here are other injuries and roster news we're tracking on Tuesday:

• Tennessee Titans offensive lineman Taylor Lewan exited the second quarter of Tuesday's game with an unknown injury. It was announced on the broadcast that Lewan is dealing with a right shoulder injury and is questionable to return. He returned early in the third quarter. Running back Darrynton Evans (hamstring) was also questionable to return but he did not return. Receiver A.J. Brown, who missed the past two games with a bone bruise in his knee, is expected to play Tuesday against the Bills, Pelissero reported. The second-year playmaker led the Titans in every major receiving category last season during a stellar rookie campaign. The team officially announced prior to kickoff that Brown and Lewan would be active; both were questionable. Cornerback Kristian Fultonand linebacker Kamalei Correawere activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list earlier in the day but were inactive for the game. The team also elevated four players from the practice squad for the matchup: OL David Quessenberry, CB Kareem Orr, WR Cody Hollister and LB Daren Bates.
• Buffalo Bills tight end Dawson Knox exited in the second half with a calf injury and did not return.
• The Kansas City Chiefs placed fullback Anthony Sherman on the reserve/COVID-19 list, Pelissero reported, per the transaction wire.
• Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Keenan Allen experienced back spasms following his touchdown catch Monday night against the Saints, Pelissero reported. Allen exited in the first quarter and did not return in the Chargers' overtime loss. He'll have extra time to return since L.A.'s bye was recently moved from Week 10 to Week 6.
• There is no talk of ankle surgery for Philadelphia Eagles offensive tackle Lane Johnson, nor talk of shutting him down for the season at this point, NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reports. Johnson gathered additional opinions on his nagging ankle injury and came to the determination the solution is a matter of rest and fighting through the issue, per Garafolo. His availability for Sunday's game against the Ravens will be determined later in the week.
• The Indianapolis Colts signed cornerback Christian Angulo to their practice squad and released linebacker Jonas Griffith from it.
• The Tampa Bay Buccaneers placed defensive tackle Vita Vea (leg) and linebacker Jack Cichy (hamstring) on injured reserve and promoted cornerback Ross Cockrell and linebacker Chapelle Russell to the active roster.
• The Detroit Lions signed receiver Victor Bolden to the practice squad.
• The Arizona Cardinals signed veteran cornerback Prince Amukamara to their practice squad.
• The Atlanta Falcons placed Marlon Davidson on the reserve/COVID-19 list. Atlanta also signed cornerback Tyler Hall to the active roster and signed linebacker James Burgess to the practice squad.
• The Green Bay Packers placed rookie tight end Josiah Deguara on injured reserve.
• The Minnesota Vikings signed defensive end Jordan Brailford and waived defensive tackle Hercules Mata'afa.
• The Los Angeles Rams placed defensive back Jordan Fuller on injured reserve.
• The New York Jets signed cornerback Lamar Jackson to the active roster and placed receiver Chris Hogan on injured reserve. New York also signed receiver Josh Malone to the practice squad.
