Cleveland Browns release pass rusher Quentin Groves

The Cleveland Browns have high-class problems: Too many pass rushers. On Friday, they got rid of one.

NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported Friday that the team released Quentin Groves. The team later announced the news, as well as the release of linebacker Larry Grant.

Groves, a former Jacksonville Jaguars draft pick, signed a two-year deal with the previous Browns front office after recording four sacks in Arizona in 2012. Groves missed most of last season with an ankle injury.

New Browns coach Mike Pettine has Jabaal Sheard, Paul Kruger and Barkevious Mingo ready to split snaps at outside linebacker. We wouldn't be surprised if Sheard and Mingo both broke out with 10-plus sacks in Pettine's system. The Browns have the defensive talent to hang with any team in the AFC.
