Commanders WR Terry McLaurin re-injured quad, won't play in Week 9 game vs. Seahawks

The bad news is piling up for the Commanders.

Receiver Terry McLaurin re-injured his quadriceps and will miss Washington's Week 9 game on Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks, head coach Dan Quinn told reporters on Wednesday.

McLaurin already has missed four games due to the injury and had only just returned to action this past Monday, catching three passes for 54 yards and a touchdown in the Commanders' 28-7 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, a game played without rising star quarterback Jayden Daniels.

Daniels, however, is expected to practice in full this week, per Quinn, which is a good sign that he'll be on the field this weekend.

The 2025 campaign has been riddled with injuries for Washington. Daniels has missed three games (two due to a knee injury, one due to the hamstring ailment) and McLaurin missed a month.

They aren't the only key contributors who have been sidelined by health issues. Top edge rusher Dorance Armstrong suffered a season-ending knee injury in Week 7, fellow defensive end Deatrich Wise saw his season end due to a quadriceps injury, running back Austin Ekeler tore his Achilles in Week 2, and tackle Laremy Tunsil left Monday night's loss early due to a hamstring injury.

With McLaurin out again, the Commanders will need to rely on veteran Deebo Samuel, Luke McCaffrey, Chris Moore and Jaylin Lane.
